Collaborative Arts Partnership Programme (CAPP) and hablarenarte
Fourth Staging Post – Work in Process
Date: 31 January – 2 February 2018
Venue: Medialab-Prado, Madrid
The Collaborative Arts Partnership Programme (CAPP) is an ambitious transnational cultural programme focusing on the dynamic area of collaborative arts. The overall goal of CAPP is to improve and open up opportunities for artists who are working collaboratively across Europe, by enhancing mobility and exchange whilst at the same time engaging new publics and audiences for collaborative practices.
Work in Process, the first Staging Post in 2018, will take place from 31 January to 2 February at Medialab-Prado, hosted by hablarenarte. It facilitates a meeting between national and international agents working with and through collaborative practices. Work in Process seeks to broaden perspectives and create a space for exchange on collaborative practices from a multidisciplinary viewpoint, surpassing the boundaries between artistic, technological, scientific and social practices.
Work in Process combines workshops, excursions, an exhibition, the presentation of a publication and public talks. The activities are designed for people who, by profession or affinity, are attracted to the notion of collaboration.
Opening: Sharing Processes | 1 February | 5:30-7pm
Sharing Processes showcases 14 CAPP projects. It consists of 10 documentation spaces in which visitors can get to know CAPP through videos, texts, objects and photographs. It also provides a reading room and a small library with materials about collaborative arts. Sharing Processes is open for a month.
Public talk: “Strategies for making visible collaborative processes” | 1 February | 7-8:30pm
Ailbhe Murphy (Create Ireland), Lois Keidan (LADA), Diego Peris (TxP) and Gloria Durán (Intermediae) will discuss different strategies for communicating and sharing collaborative processes. Simultaneous translation will be available.
Presentation of Impossible Glossary and Discussion | 2 February | 7-9pm | Registration required
From A as Authorship to V as Visibility. We invite you to take part in the performative presentation of the second edition of hablarenarte’s Impossible Glossary. There will be neither presentations nor a table of experts, but instead, an open and dynamic process. 22 hosts will channel a debate around the same number of keywords that frequently appear when talking about collaborative practices.
